We were thrilled to be a part of the CIO Awards held last night at the SkyCity Convention Centre in Auckland. ClearPoint sponsored the Executive Team of the Year award and as it was the first time this particular award had been offered – it was hotly contested.
I have to say that heading into this sponsorship was a big step for us. It was a logical category for ClearPoint to support, given the success of our organisation can be largely attributed to talented teams who deliver great projects. We were however apprehensive because we had no idea who would enter and for what projects. Little did we know that all four finalists in the category (Auckland Transport, Air New Zealand, health Alliance and New Zealand Superannuation Fund) would turn out to be ClearPoint clients.
Although we were not involved in the judging in any way, we fully endorse the insightful comments made by the judges.
The calibre of all the finalists was superb. The event show cased the sector well, and was very well attended by senior executives from across the ICT industry. The venue’s service and food was also excellent.
We were of course thrilled that the Guardians of the New Zealand Superannuation Fund won the Executive Team of the Year award, and are sorry that the other, highly commendable teams, missed out this time. Congratulations to all last night’s winners too. Thomas Salmen from Orcon was named as CIO of the Year and Bruce Aylward from Psoda received the Emerging ICT Leader of the Year award.
The celebrations continued long into the night. We hope that all who entered in 2012 continue to build on their successes for the coming year and we see you back again in 2013.
More from Computerworld on the night.
